Welcome to Maestro Boxers, Canadian Kennel Club registered, we are located on the Southern Shore of the Avalon Peninsula on the island of Newfoundland & Labrador, Canada. We do not breed often, we breed for quality, not quantity. Our goal is to breed healthy Boxer puppies, bred to the written CKC standard, focusing on temperament, health & structure. In our breeding program Genetic Health Testing is a must to ensure parents are healthy, this is to reduce the risk of unhealthy Boxers. Breeders interested in preserving the Boxer breed are determined to maintain the healthiest gene pool possible, they do so by selective breeding.
For more on health follow the HEALTH tab above There is the misconception that purebred dogs are not as healthy as mixed breed dogs. The reality of it is, all dogs carry genetic diseases. Breeders such as myself, who test for the various diseases Boxers are known for, make every effort to breed away from them. We offer a health guarantee against genetic issues and a life time of support to all puppy buyers.
Our dogs are members of our family, they sleep in our beds at night. During the day they are hanging out at our doggie daycare with their furry friends, on weekends they can be found training for upcoming shows/trials or running the trails of our 2 acre property. Boxers are a high energy breed and will require exercise, they get bored if they have too much built up energy and this can cause destructive behavior. When bred for the correct temperament, Boxers are fundamentally playful, yet patient and stoical with children. They will exhibit curiosity, but most importantly, fearless courage and tenacity if threatened. This describes our dogs very well, they are intelligent, loyal, and the tractability to discipline make them a highly desirable companion.
